Worker’s Collective: Manager workloads are being adjusted. New credit card minimum policy has been implemented and communicated to members. Review of employee hour banking tabled until next meeting for complete report/usage chart to be completed by Justin.

 

Merchandising: In planning stages for a 10^th anniversary mug design contest and cookbook. Mug contest will be presented at the Spaghetti Dinner on Feb. 5. Voting on designs will be at the Annual Meeting in April. Paula and Shelly are looking into mug styles other than the corn plastic mugs. Request to look into possibly including other co-ops into the anniversary celebrations.

 

Inventory: There was a recent inventory count. Overall orders have been pared back slightly.

 

Volunteer: Request for closers Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays. Richard agrees to take these closing shifts. Might be options for Sundays.

 

Café: Justin is leaving the Café June 1^st. HR will work on finding two new managers. New fridge in café. Got rid of the bakery case. Worker’s Collective request for exit interviews with managers.

 

Building/Maintenance: No update.

 

Communications: Considering using Groupon, but no final decision yet. Checking on cost of program vs. potential profits.

 

Finance: Need to contact North Country, Lincoln, and Brewery Credit Union. Jake will check with both on the Co-op’s ability to obtain a loan. Store lost money overall last year. Café did much better comparatively. The store didn’t lose money in December of 2010. Payroll percent is down in café. Question raised of the accuracy/timing of insurance payments listed in reports. Committee budgets need to be submitted by next month’s board meeting.

 

Human Resources: Café co-manager job description is finalized and posted. Hiring committee will be formed. Worker’s Collective will complete and present Paula’s review.

 

 

 

Long Term Planning: Spaghetti Dinner is February 5^th from 5-8 p.m. at the Falcon Bowl. Desserts will be needed. Chili Cookoff will be February 20^th at 5 p.m. at Linneman’s. Need to start planning for 10^th anniversary events perhaps after November. Paula suggested making a picture presentation of the co-op creation for the website or the café.

 

Annual Meeting: Reports from committees due by next Board meeting in February. Some board recruitment efforts have started.

 

Board Retreat: Decided on date of February 19^th and 20^th.
