Communications committee meeting for  February 24, 2010

 

Present were Lisa, Justin, Gibson and Susan.

 

• Event updates:

Woodland Pattern event in the future           Gibson would like to plan something

Riverwest Follies                              Event from 5-9, café to serve food from 5-7, and mugs/shirts will be sold.  Will need volunteers to sell merchandise and sell tickets at the door.  Susan volunteered to help.  Co-op can use kitchen at the location, and Lisa will find out how much food is needed.

Pre - Chili Cookoff                           $283 and 120 ballots.  Next year, cups for water (or the bar selling water bottles) and extra trash cans would be helpful.  Gibson will have reports in near future.  Public TV to follow Co-op from start to finish of the winning chili, and NPR to do interview about vegetarian restaurants in Milwaukee

MSOE Chili Cookoff                       Café will have special PLU to note $.50 donation per bowl of chili from 3/1 through 3/8.

Annual meeting                                 scheduled for 4/18

2010 budget approved by the board per Gibson.

Justin looking for ideas to bring more traffic to the café on Wednesdays – ½ price sandwiches or something like it?  Justin will do cost analysis and make final decision.
