Communications committee meeting for  January 13, 2010

 

Present were Lisa, Erin, Sandra, Amanda and Susan.

 

• Event updates:

Locust Street Days                            information about $ still coming from Gibson and Doug

Just Coffee                                          information about $ still coming from Gibson

Center Street Daze                             loss of about $74 caused by late start and Co-op banners missing to identify food stand.  More $ information still coming.

Co-op Anniversary party                $387.00 taken at the door, with $200.00 paid for music and entertainment, and $60.00 for beer.  ?? paid for cake.

Spaghetti Dinner                               Currently scheduled for 1/23 – no updates

Riverwest Follies                              Scheduled for 3/6 from 5 PM-9 PM.  Café will be requested to provide food, and volunteers will be needed

Rueben Cocos has offered to put on a fundraiser for the co-op.  Rueben has experience in putting together shows and so this is being considered for May.  Lisa will take this to the board for further review.

Domain name problem 1/19 (domain name gone), but problem corrected now – just not sure how corrected

New website should be completed soon

 

• Ads:

Workers’ Collective would like to see specials here.  Another suggestion was for Chili Cookoff (Nothing sells romance like spicy beans).

 

• Interdependent newsletter:

No updates

 

• Committee direction

Erin and Sandra both thought that the meeting with the board was very productive.  However, there were a lot of questions that needed answers from the board before the committee can move forward.  Erin will send an email to the board so that this can be put on the agenda for the next 1/19 board meeting.

 

• Miscellaneous

2010 budget will be completed and sent to Lisa for review.

 

• The next communications committee meeting will be held  January 27 at 7:00.
