We are now accepting applications for the position of the Café Kitchen Manager until Friday, June 26th. Any applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.

All applicants must submit a resume detailing their past experience and qualifications for the job.

JOB DUTIES

Hiring/Firing (performance appraisals)
Ensuring the sanitation habits of employees
Training of staff/volunteers
Attendance at Weekly Workers Collective meetings
Attendance at Board of Directors meetings
Handling customer service issues
Portion control
Cost control
Marketing/advertising
Scheduling Kitchen cleaning
Maintenance of equipment
Preparation oversight and related issues
Deli case/ Bakery case presentation -proper signage and cleanliness
Organization of the kitchen
Catering Budget/ Menu
Liaison to the Communications Committee
Preparing Cafe Specials

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

*3-5 years working experience in a high-intensity kitchen atmosphere

*Participation in the Riverwest Cooperative Worker’s Collective

*Ability to work 40 Hours/week

*Management experience preferred

*Understanding of the Co-management structure preferred.

Riverwest Co-op is sponsoring the Family Friendly Music Concert this Saturday June 20th.

Come one, Come all! Join your friends, neighbors and bring the family as we start the first of three shows this summer.

Riverwest Summer Music Series Presents: Family Friendly Music

LadyMOB (Lady and Women owned Businesses) of Milwaukee, OLDP, Riverwest Currents and the Riverwest Co-op are sponsoring a summer music series aimed at providing families and children of all ages with access to unusual and inspiring music.

Entry is $8 for adults, $3 for 12 and under, groups of 5 or more people with one adult is only $15.

Show your unemployment stub and get in for $1!!

Our first show on June 20th features Trio Du Monde a Riverwest/Madison based Jazz Trio.

C2C - Riverwest Co-op + Just Coffee = Riverwest Co-op Coffee! also…Call for art submissions! READ ON!

Riverwest Food Co-op is proud to announce that we will soon have our very own blend of coffee beans roasted by the Just Coffee Cooperative in Madison, WI. This will be a part of Just Coffee’s Co-op to Co-op campaign, or ‘C2C’, as they like to call it. Once we do have our own coffee blend, the entire productivity line for the coffee will be all from cooperatives, from the growers all the way into your hand.

At the celebratory block party on Saturday, August 8th, we will be able to vote on which coffee we love the most, and also which label art we love the most. So, with that being said, we need your help…well, your artwork to be exact. We’ll have cool prizes for the first place and two runner-up entries. The best prize: your artwork could be chosen to be on the coffee bags that you will soon be able to purchase at the Riverwest Co-op.

Guidelines for the art:
A drawing, painting or graphic art.
Choose any theme you like - - either coffee, Riverwest, cooperatives, or anything at all really, just be creative!
10″x12″ or 5″x6″ (if chosen, it will be shrunk to fit on the label)

The deadline for artwork submissions will be Wednesday, July 15th. For a couple of weeks all submissions will be up for public viewing for an initial ballot. The top choices will then be voted on at the block party. All entries may be submitted in print to the Riverwest Co-op.

We will keep you posted on updates about the block party in the next few weeks. There will also be more information about the party up at the Riverwest Co-op, so look out for that too. Thanks and we hope you can help!
