Co-op presents showing of "Fresh"

01/24/11

alt

When: Thursday, January 27, 7 pm

Where: Riverwest Artists Association - Jazz Gallery, 926 E. Center St.

The Riverwest Co-op is proud to sponsor a FREE showing of the documentary Fresh, featuring Milwaukee's own Will Allen. FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

Admit it, you were getting nervous that there wouldn't be a Spaghetti Dinner this year.

Never fear, friends, spaghetti is here!

This year's spaghetti dinner will be Saturday, February 5, from 5-8 pm at Falcon Bowl. Dinner is $6 for adults, $3 for kids 6-12, and free for kids under 6. As always, seconds will only cost you $1!

We'll have plenty of pasta, meat sauce, veggie sauce and salad; the bar will have all the cold beer you can buy. We're looking for volunteers to bring desserts to share- please let us know! Those of you so inclined, you can do so on the Spaghetti Dinner Facebook event page.
