Café meeting Sept. 27, 2011
In attendance: Dawn, Mia, Riles, Gretchen, Nik, Amanda (Tavi, Cohen, and Syris (sp))
Topics:
Closing: Staff is encouraged to continue to use the chore/before you go list for their shifts. As not to, miss anything on their way in or out. Please follow through with this. Its helpful to your co-workers before and after you.
Shift changes: All employees of the café are required to fulfill their shifts at the scheduled time. If you need a day of or shift changed you are responsible for covering your absence. You are not to altar your shift w/o discussing this with a manager first. We are slowing down in the café and we don’t need so many people on a shift anymore so adjustments to the schedule must be made by a manager. Dawn does the schedule you may talk to her directly at anytime.
Lennys Review: We are scheduling meeting with Lenny to read and discuss her review and this will be passed on to H.R dept. Should be done in the next week.
Anniversary Dinner: Nik and Mia will be the evenings chef. Dawn will bake pies and or a sheet cake if decided or needed.
Quarterly inventory: Due Oct. 4. Will be done by done and passed on to Shelly in the store.
Employee update: Dawn will pass a form requesting current phone numbers and emails of each staff member. Also, birthdays as well.
Employee Rewards: Dawn will be working on calling different local businesses for donations of dinner, movies, certificates to coffee houses, tattoo shop etc… to pass out to employee as incentives. Dawn and Mia will work together on a way we see best fit to pass out the rewards accordingly.
Food licenses: Dawn and Mia will be attending a class on Oct. 10. We will have Nik open instead of Dawn and Gretchen will due swing shift instead of Mia. We are in the process of getting a food scanner license as well.
New things: Dawn and Mia have collaborated on the new menu. We have added some new items: Mock tuna melt sandwich, nachos, roasted veggie sandwich. We have also changed a few price around. Introduce a salad of the week that will come with any sandwich free of charge. Will work with store to introduce a sandwich meal deal that includes a Blue sky soda. We discussed many options all in which will be designed by Mia and Nik and will be presented at our next staff meeting before being set out to the public. Also, Mia and Dawn are working together on a full Catering Menu set with platters, baked good, sandwiches, etc. intact with prices and proper scaled amounts for bigger events. If there are ideas on any of this please feel free to talk to Dawn or Mia.
Raw eggs: DON’T PUT RAW EGGS IN PEOPLES FOOD/DRINKS. THEY CAN DO THAT THEMSELVES AT HOME.
Lastly, thank you so much for all your hard work. Communication has been great this past month and I feel there has been as all around positive vibe in the kitchen. Lets work hard together to continue this positivity by communication, understanding, humor and respect with and for one another.
P.S we have been so SLOW CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN SOMETHING!!!!
